African celeb couple news!:Its a boy..or 2 and Seal a daddy again?

Like I said before ,Djimora may be having a baby boy or twins,as seen by the "Its a Boy" baloon they were toting around while shopping in Hollywood recently.Or they may be having twins!cuteness.Cant wait to see those Afro-Asian babies!
According to Star magazine,"Aoki slept through the entire ceremony, and Ming cried. They were pretty confused as to what was going on,” Okay?Weird.
The source continues "Kimora and her man were married over the summer on a transcontinental trip to Hounsou’s native Benin, Africa ? but they couldn’t make it official in the U.S. because Kimora was still technically married to mogul Russell Simmons; that divorce was finalized on Jan 28, 2009".

"Both Kimora and Djimon wore traditional dashikis,” says our insider. “She went whole hog with the African theme — there were African drums, a traditional ceremony with dancers. . . they even had a hut!”Well congrats to them then!

In other african celeb couple news ,Seal and his wife Heidi Klum are expecting another baby !According to accesshollywood.com ,"Seal announced the news at his show at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Thursday."(thats the show where he is seen on a pic I posted of him carrying his son Johan).

This will be the third child for Seal and fourth for Heidi,who has a daughter called Leni from a previous relationship.Leni was asopted by Seal and he considers her his daughter and in a dec 2008 interview with Good housekeeping mag,he said that when he drops Leni at school,hes "a mess for the whole day " if she doesn't give him a hug.aaaww...Heidi always looks hawt..even when preggers as she rocks 6 inch heels on Project Runway.Seems she's pregers every other season!

"Kiss from a rose" singer Seal was spotted with him and Heidi Klum's adorable son Johan .Cuteness!my only concern is that black nail polish hes rocking.Maybe his adopted daughter Leni needed a test dummy for mummy's new nailpolish?Just saying.Seal was spotted again taking Johan with him to a show he was doing at Radio City Music Hall later that night.Boys night out.aaaww..

Iman was spotted shopping it up in nyc's trendy shopping spot Soho(love that place).And I love the outfit!she rocked a laid back and casual look and paired the outfit with her own Iman Global chic bag.Anyone who can look like that at 50 is a rockstar!love Iman.

Djimon Hounsou and his phat farm designer baby mama Kimora ,were spotted shopping recently.They used the moment to tell the world that they are expecting a baby boy as you can see from the baloons!cant wait to see that baby.From now on,I will be referring to the couple as Djimora,a name that my cousin Claude came up with.SHOUTOUT TO CLAUDE!Im not too sure if the baloon was meant to fool the paps,as Kimora is very secretive (hiding behind Djimon sometimes).I also heard that they may be having twin boys instead of just one.We'll see!

Rwandese Singer Corneille signs to Motown + shoutouts!

Cornielle Nyungura is a singer whose music I have been exposed to for a while ,so when I read in vibe magazine and Uptown mag that he has been signed to Motown Records,which is the same record company that Akon is signed to,I was really happy because now his music will have an outlet in the us.He usually sings in french,but has produced an english album called the "Birth of Corneilious" which came out last month .He is rwandese and the 32 year old is ready to become a household name in the us ,which is probably the few countries where he is not known.
I asked my bestfriend Tresor for an opinion on Corneille and here's what he had to say "I like Corneill'e music because i believe he sings with his heart. in way he shares his secret garden and he does it with passion. His lyrics express a lot of pain but i think that's what makes it so intense."See,Its not just me.lol

Kenya and Nigeria rep Africa on ANTM!

So the new season of America's Next Top Model is on tv ,(not the one where people got trampled over when trying to audition).Anyway ,there are two girls repping Africa.One is frm Nigeria ,her name is Aminat,and the other one's name is Sandra from Kenya.
so far,both girls have been struggling with taking pics.So ,my opinion?I really like Aminat because she looks like she has a face that could be on the runway soon and she is not bitchy ,unlike sandra who seems to think she is an african princess.wtf?Firstof all,what is up with her red shoes?I mean damn I know that I love my new black ankle boots but they are black,not red.she wears them all the damn time like they are the only shoes she owns.She has a model face and body ,but she also has a big mouth and can't walk for ish.And the worst part is this chick thinks that her walk "Rips the runway".Wtf?Chick needs a Miss J intervention asap!

Big Brother Africa contestants to host new reality show.

Seems like reality shows are popping up all over Africa ,and the latest african reality show in the making will air in April and will be hosted by Big Brother Africa's first ever winner , zambian Cherise Makubale .Gaetono Kagwa ,who was also another contestant on the show from uganda will also host .He currently hosts the lifestyle show "Studio 53".Here is a brief description of the show ,courtesy of jamati.com.

" The international show called Africa’s World Best (AWB) reality TV talent show is the first ever to bring together 60 Africans from all parts of the world into one house competing for one title with the biggest prize in the history of African TV to be won.

AWB Launch Party

The winner will in fact take home a cash prize of USD $100,000 and a brand new car.

AWB will go live in April. The show will involve talents such as singing, acting, performing arts, Comedy, poetry, script writing, dressmaking, jewellery making, sculpturing, dancing and other unique talents. All Africans with any special talent are strongly encouraged to apply ".

Contestants on the show ,who will range from singers,actors,comedians etc will have to live in a house for 60 days and there will be weekly evictions as voted by the public.So it's kind of like big brother mixed with idols and project fame.

I like the concept of the show,but I don't get the prize .If the aim is to expose africa and the world to talent,why not give a prize like a recording contract (if a singer wins) or something other than a car.I think the title is pretty lame as well.

Interview with Face of Africa Winner Kate Menson.+West African Top Model?

I did a post the last time I blogged about Kate Menson ,who is the Ghanian that walked away with a modelling contract,nokia accessories and most importantly,the title of "Face of Africa " 2008.Here is an interview with her that was taken a few days after she won.

Estelle's new adidas ad,New album deets.

Miss Estelle seems to be pretty busy these days.The singer has been nominated for a grammy for "American Boy"(don't ask me what category) ,and her new addidas ad recently came out.Well she features in it alongside Katy Perry,Russel Simmons and other celebs.(Haven't seen it on tv yet though).
She is already making preparations for her next album.The album is set to be released late 2009,and according to concreteloop,the singer said ,
"I’m really excited to start working on my next album. I’m going to go totally left field and surprise a lot of people… I’m going to hit it out the ball park with this one. I’m thinking a mix of Coldplay and Marvin Gaye.”Will keep u updated.Meanwhile,Estelle has been partying it up and her most recent stop was at a bday party for makeup-artist Tina Nguyen with Akon.

Rumours have been swirling that african actor Idris Elba is in talks to be the next James Bond .According to theybf.com,he 's handsome and the fact that he has a british accent helps.Idris does have some competition though.And guess who it is ?American mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.WOW(and not in a good way).According to sources,Diddy shelled out lots of money for an audition tape that he sent to the producers of Bond.Idris vs Diddy?Hmm..my money is on Idris for obvious reasons.

Speaking of Idris,his new thriller flick that he shot with Beyonce ,now has a trailer.You may peep it right here.I think it's coming out in April of '09.It looks good actually.I couldn't find any video without B being the first one to pop onto the screen.

Big Brother Africa 3 has a winner!/Past BBA housemate get's hitched!

When BBA 3 started airing ,I was intending to post up daily videos on this blog abt what the housemates were up to and all the drama that would happen.Too bad the show was too dry it was almost painful to watch.After the first one and a half weeks ,I was like "nah" and i never watched any more.I got updates from my friends who did watch it.

So apparently,the show ended about 2 weeks ago and Angolan housemate Ricco won.He was up against Hazel from Malawi.I guess he was pretty entertaining ...I mean the most entertaining should win right?

MTV finally gives a S about Africa!

It's about damn time that MTV starts to see that African music exists!And no,I don't mean them playing more of Akon's music.On Nov 22nd,the first ever MTV Africa Awards will take place in Lagos Nigeria.Stars who will be in attendance include 9ice,Psqaure and others.American rapper "The Game" will host the main event,which will be preceeded by smaller concerts in different cities ,including Jo'burg S.A.The event will be shown on MTV channels so look out for that this weekend.Here is a video with more info.

So You Think You Can Dance SOUTH AFRICA/HIGH SCHOOL MUISCAL SA?

One of my fave Tv dance shows is finally headed to Africa.Well,South Africa actually.The wildly successful US show is finally headed to SA and I'm curious to see how it pans out.I haven't been able to get any footage yet ,so be patient .I can't wait to see the dancers solo acts and see how they measure up compared to the US dancers .And I wonder who the judges and chereographers will be..

Speaking of dance ,here is a clip from Dance Africa ,the channel o created show where dances from selected african countries compete for a chance to be crowned "Africa's Best Dancer".This was the only clip I could find and is of the Nigerian contestant .

And in other news,apparently,there is or just was an SA version of High School Musical .Wow...I guess we are doing good on the copy-american-tv-shows thing .But maybe instead of basketball,they should make Troy (played by Zac Efron in the US version play soccer).Just saying...Don't really care who wins High School Musical 3.
