Half African ,half French model Noemi Lenoir (one of her parents is from the Reunion islands) attempted suicide early this week .

According to concreteloop..com ,"She was found unconscious in a forest on the outskirts of Paris by a man walking his dog at the weekend. Noémie reportedly called the emergency services from the home of her former boyfriend and father to her five-year-old son, soccer star, Claude Makelele in La Celle-Saint-Cloud. However, she telephoned again to cancel her request for an ambulance, before leaving the property. She was found having taken a deadly combination of drugs and alcohol."She is now well though...thats crazy though..suicide?

Heidi Klum covers this months issue of Redbook Magazine and gushes about how sexy her Nigerian hubby is..."Not only do I love my husband for the obvious reasons (ahem, his sex appeal), but also he is one of the kindest, most loving men I have ever met. Isnt this just interesting?one of Akon's baby mama's Sara Coleman threatened to put out a FULL PAGE ad in the LA times paper threatening Akon to pay up child support.
According to the ybf,
"Akon’s baby mama says she wants her cash from Mr. Akon. Now. He’s been late on the child support payments apparently. According to her lawyer, Farrah/Sara Coleman is taking out a FULL PAGE ad in the L.A. Times putting Akon on blast saying she hasn’t been able to find him to deliver his legal papers demanding him to pay up. Then the TMZ cameras caught up with Akon yesterday and he responded with “She can find me on Myspace…”

In other "random news",the new face of a Tesco ad (british super-market chain) has been outed as an illegal immigrant.Apparently 32 year old Fatou Cham from Gambia had applied for a visa extension after her student visa ran out in 2001 but wasnt granted one and stayed on.She worked at Tesco and entered in a competition for the new face of the brand.damn...i guess entering a modelling competition as an illegal immigrant isnt a great idea.and there you have it..ur randomness served up ...

Sandra ,the Kenyan who was competing in America's Next Top Model's ongoing season left the show a couple of weeks ago after being eliminated by Tyra and the other judges.She looked like she was toning down the drama ,but I guess the chick just couldn't take any pics well.Model face ,but I guess that doesn't translate into a picture.Im glad I dont have to see those red shoes anymore.So thankful!Maybe we should send her a box of shoes to expand her collection.lol

In other news ,according to linda 's blog ,Nigeria's "Kokomaster" D'banj will be the star of a new reality show where nigerian ladies will compete for his heart.Aka the african version of "For the Love of Ray J" or "Flavor of Love" or "The Bachelor".It will be called the "koko mansion" and ladies will have to participate in challenges as well.Weaves will be flying ,and storylines from naija movies may be obtained from here .Lol.I'll have updates when the show is here.

It seems to me like only Akon can pull off this foolywang behavior and keep a straight face .The "I'm So Paid " singer recently revealed that while he does have a birth certificate ,he doesn't really know his real age .Akon said ,
"All it's going to do is depress me,"
"I don't want to know I'm getting older. Then I'll start to think about getting checkups and insurance. I don't want that."
According to the Associated Press ,
" Numerous reports have put his age between 25 to 35 years old. In 2006, he gave his age as 25. But now, he claims his birth certificate shows he was born on April 16, 1977, which would make him 31".
According to Akon ,
"In Africa ... age is not important over there. They don't care. People only focus on it here (America) and in Europe."
"I feel like I'm 21 right now," he says. "And I'll be 21 for the next 10 years."

The Randomness:2010 World Cup Mascot revealed and Iman before/After.

I decided to put up two "The Randomness " posts in one today .Okay,so the mascot for the 2010 soccer world cup in SA (see you there) has been out for a while(since late september),but i don't think many people who are not living in Africa heard about it.So here he is.His name is Zakumi.The "Za" is taken from the afrikaans way of saying "South Africa",and apparently "Kumi" means ten (2010,get it?) in a number of african languages.So what so you think?Is he a good mascot?And what exactly is he?a leopard?or a cheetah?I'm trying to figure that out. I don't know what I think ..mascots are kind of freaky to me .Hmm..

Oh and secondly,I recently found these pics comparing how Iman looked when she was just discovered ,and how she looks now.Very different!That's an understatement actually.What do you think?I guess money makes you look..different?Ne way,I just watched a special on her on BETJ .It was very interesting.So what do you think about the change?

The Randomness :Nas and Pharell give us their two cents about Africa.

I found this video on ariztos magazine ,which is african ,and in the video,Nas was asked why US artists don't perform that much in africa and you can see what him and Pharell have to say.

I think that some of his comments are well-taken,but am not sure about the comment on how africans have our own racial words for african-americans.While the people I know do not represent the whole of africa,I must say that I have never heard an african refer to a black-american in a racially degrading way.
He also says that we africans and them have communication issues ,which is true,but I think that's because we (or maybe just me) thinks that they don't make an effort to get acquainted with african culture.
He is correct in saying that americans are being lied to about africa ,but it is up to them to find out what's really going on in africa.everyone knows not to just believe the media.
Anyway,I will leave the commenting up to you.What do u think?

The Randomness :Elephant makes Survivor Gabon contestants appreciate life!

Okay,so I've started this section where I will just blog about random things I see that are related to Africa that are either hilarious (like this one),or just stuff that doesn't necessarily fit into any subject category..here we go!

On the last episode of survivor Gabon ,the fang tribe saw an elephant near their area and spent a long time (as the show portrayed) in complete amazement .It was pretty hilarious .Then Ace and Matty got in a canoe and went in for a closer look (did they get the memo on the fact that elephants sometimes kill humans?).According to Matty,seeing the elephant makes him "appreciate life".Who knew an elephant could do that?Ne way,here is footage of the elephant meeting.U have to fast-forward it because I couldn't find footage of just that part.
