Akon seems to be in the news at least once a month .This time for saying that Christina Aguilera is swaggerjacking his signee Lady Gaga.He is quoted by a bunch of sites including theybf as saying,

"Honestly, Gaga and Christina could probably get together and do something that's amazing. But that's impossible if they are both trying to do the same exact thing musically.
(Aguilera is) not even any competition. You are actually giving Christina too much credit. She always had her cool little look and way about how she went about things. But soon as Gaga came out, everything switched up. Christina stepped out of her own shell to become something different."..wait,hasnt Christina been around longer than Gaga?just saying...

So finally Akon is doing the suing..hes suing his former business partners ,"alleging they used his name for a new perfume without permission.the Smack That star was stunned when perfume executives formed Konvict Cosmetics International and started selling a scent called Konvict without his approval. "..

Akon refused visa in Sri Lanka ? Lupe writing a book?+new music

Senegalese singer Akon was denied a visa to Sri Lanka where he was supposed to perform.According to BBC News ,"The ban comes after protests over one of the star's music videos featuring scantily-clad women dancing in front of a statue of Buddha".

Akon did apologize saying he has no idea he had offended some religious groups and his people had "postponed" the show then later cancelled it.Now it looks like Maldives will be welcoming him with open arms as President Mohamed Nasheed's press secretary Mohamed Zuhair claims the hitmaker has accepted the offer to play in the Maldives.

Zuhair says, "We are very happy he is planning to come and perform." The concert is scheduled to take place a day earlier than planned, on April 23.

In other news, fresh off a week long trip to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro,Lupe Fiasco is writing a book.About a window-washer...yeah im as clueless as you ..he stated "I’ve been telling stories and Hip-Hop has been an extension of me telling stories so it’s kind of like me putting it in a more traditional form as far as a book.No date is set as of now..his new album lasers is being promoted now with the singles Lean and "Resurrection " which he did with his buddy Kenna (ethiopian singer ) .The song is a tribute to Haiti..

Isnt this just interesting?one of Akon's baby mama's Sara Coleman threatened to put out a FULL PAGE ad in the LA times paper threatening Akon to pay up child support.
According to the ybf,
"Akon’s baby mama says she wants her cash from Mr. Akon. Now. He’s been late on the child support payments apparently. According to her lawyer, Farrah/Sara Coleman is taking out a FULL PAGE ad in the L.A. Times putting Akon on blast saying she hasn’t been able to find him to deliver his legal papers demanding him to pay up. Then the TMZ cameras caught up with Akon yesterday and he responded with “She can find me on Myspace…”

U guys will remember the pics I posted up of Wale and Solange in Central Park having a picnic and listening 2 music?Well..even though she said on twitter that them two are just "friends"(they all say that)and even though they are "working together" music wise,we hear rumours that maybe they are getting to know each other better..or maybe they are already dating.A pic surfaced of Solange attending Wale's bday party in his Dc hometown at the PARK.Wale does not appear in the pic.

WALE attended the hip hop honors awards and later was spotted at Lebron James movie premiere event.
Djimon and his partner Kimora went to the UN where Djimon gave a speech on Climate change.From the pics,it looks like he was really into that speech and passionate about what he was saying.Dont we all love a good cause?
Baby Kenzo made another apperance at the airport as his mama and daddy flew back to LA .Estelle was spotted in her hometown of London for London Fashion week,and she also performed at an event.

Apparently the prez of senegal has put Akon in his "black book" because the "Lonely" singer didn't show up at a meeting that the two had set up.The meeting was supposed to be a press conference where the two would discuss the third festival or world black arts that should be happening in senegal this year.Akon attended a meeting at the UN in Ny some months ago to discuss this concert with diplomats and ambassadors and this conference was supposed to be a way of letting the public know the details of the event.Not a good look Akon.If I was the president,I would tell him to refund me for the ticket (just saying).
Oh and in an interview with Rap Up magazine ,Akon compared himself to the beatles.When asked how he is received whenever he arrives in Africa for performances, "It's like when the Beatles first came to the U.S times 10.Ridiculous"...yeah right Akon.
Oh and he says he gets mistaken for Tyrese all the time.Yeah right.

Because it is not enough to sell millions of records and have a clothing line and be a producer,Akon has added to his Konvict empire by going into the perfume industry.According to hip-hopcrunch.com ,
"Akon is the latest entertainment notable joining the celebrity scent craze. The “Smack That” star will launch two new fragrances later this year.

"Akon recently formed Konvict Cosmetics, and he is planning to launch Konvicted, a scent aimed at younger consumers, and Aliaune, titled after the singer’s real name and marketed toward a more mature audience".
There were rumours that Akon was afraid for his life after the death of Dolla,one of his Konvict artists,although he seems to be busy touring the globe.
He has been tapped to do the theme song for the world cup 2010 and he met up with south african prez Jacob Zuma recently to dicuss that.Before the meeting ,he said

“I’m going to South Africa for a meeting about the 2010 World Cup. I’m the official music coordinator. It means I’ll produce the official World Cup song and I’ll oversee all the official music,”
